How Much Does YouTube Pay Per 1000 views In Nigeria? Deciding Factors on How Much You’ll Make
First you should know
[Tweet “YouTubers don’t get paid per people watching their videos, but for the ads displayed on their videos”]
Yes, for example:
If you have 50,000 views on your video = YouTube pays you nothing for that.
If YouTube ads displayed 1,000 times on that video = YouTube pays you.
I found this 9 minutes video and it explains how much you make per 1000 views and other important things like:
- How different types of ads (Skippable ads, non-skippable ads, display ads, bumper ads) have different earning potentials,
- How the type of content you publish determines what advertisers are willing to bid.
- How the location of viewers affects your earning potential.

If you want to see more specific figures on how much a YouTuber is making. I’ll recommend going to a site I just found – SocialBlade.com.
There you’ll find View totals, estimated earnings, subscriber numbers, historical graphs, etc for ANYONE or ANY CHANNEL you search for.
For example, I carried out a search on UncleMarkAngel (if you don’t know Uncle mark and Emmanuella, you’re missing o) and this is the earning estimates based on subscriber base and views:
and daily stats below
Using Socialblade can give you information on ANY CHANNEL. That will give you a better idea of how much an average YouTuber makes online and I think that’s a great way to go.
However, If I were to give a random figure, I’ll say you can expect to make around $100 a month if you get about 50,000 views on a YouTube video in that time (though it’s not the greatest salary in the world).
To be honest, the best way to make a success on YouTube is to forget the money and focus on uploading high-quality content first, for your audience.
As time goes on and people start to notice your channel, you have the ability to monetize your channel using the strategies below:
How Nigerian YouTubers Get Paid – 5 Smart Options to Monetize Your Channel
The strategies below are what YouTubers implement to make money on their YouTube channel.
1. Get Paid for Reviewing Products
Have you come across those guys or ladies that review products on YouTube and you just think to yourself, “who cares about your opinion?”.
Well, you may not care about their opinion, but they get paid nonetheless to make those review videos.
If you have a sizable number of followers to advertise to afterwards, that could be more money. If you do not have anyway, you can get paid just to feature in those videos.
There are a bunch of items up for review from recipes, video games, health care products, DIY items, and the list goes on.
For example, tech bloggers review smartphones and other devices and they get free devices from companies (some use these devices, some sell them)
2. License Your Content to the Media
If you happen to create a viral video with mass appeal—say, a funny clip featuring your dog—you can license your content in exchange for money.
TV news outlets, morning shows, online news sites, and other creators might reach out about the rights to use your videos if they happen to go viral.
This video of a lady wearing a Chewbacca mask went viral, tons of media outlets wanted in.
However you can also list your videos in a marketplace such as Juken Media where your content will be easier for the right people to find and purchase.
3. YouTube Partner
The first revenue stream you’ll likely think to explore is ads.
You’ll need to set yourself up as a YouTube Partner, which is easily done in the Creator Studio section of your YouTube account by going to the Channel menu to verify your account and enable Monetization (click here to go there directly).
After you become a Partner, you’ll need to have an AdSense account to opt into Google’s advertising network to actually get paid and see ad revenue reports like the one below. If you don’t have one, you can apply for one here.
Once that’s done, you’ll notice a green “$” next to your videos in the Video Manager, indicating whether it’s been enabled for monetization, which you can click on to access the monetization settings for each video.
It’s easy to set up, but advertising as a YouTube partner is far from being the most lucrative revenue stream you can create for yourself.
4. Work with brands as an influencer or affiliate marketer
Don’t have a business website or products of your own to make money from? There are a ton of companies willing to pay you a commission if they make a sale through you.
Sign up for affiliates on your chosen brand’s website, go ahead and make videos about these products and insert the affiliate links on the video descriptions and earn from it.
For example, tech or photography niche YouTubers give a list of their gear set and kits and they give their affiliate links in the description boxes of their videos.
5. Marketing your blog/website
If you have an e-commerce website or a general blog, the amount of money you can make is directly a result of traffic.
How does it work? Get a professional video editor to make short videos promoting your website and products.
With these engaging visuals and audio, your business will be exposed to the large bulk of internet users that come to search for topics that relate with keywords you use in the title of your videos
The option to attach a description to your video is your opportunity to hit viewers with a short and engaging sales copy with a URL to your website.
With all this in place, you’ll have 70% of the viewing traffic rushing off to your website, and that is just where you want them to be.
Now, the moment of truth.
The 3 Important Things to Know About YouTube Money
I think you should know these..
1. YouTube is not a quick way to make easy money
Repeat after me:
[Tweet “YouTube is not a game, it’s serious business”]
If you think you’ll make quick money with few videos in your channel hoping one of them will go viral, Just stop. It’s not a game!
YouTubers invest in it big, I mean they get reasonable gear set. They invest in camera, stands, lighting, backdrops, spend time editing etc.
2. Top quality content
Successful YouTubers are not just in it for the money, they care about their audience and how they intend to provide value.
To make money on YouTube you need to consistently upload high quality and engaging videos to your channel and build a large fan base.
Then YouTube will notice how many subscribers you have and how many views you’re getting. And they’ll position your videos higher in their search results. It’s only at this point you can make the huge money you thinking about.
3. It all comes down to advertising
Making money on YouTube comes down to Advertising. For 95% of YouTubers their monthly income comes from Advertisers promoting their contents online.
You don’t get paid every time someone watches one of your videos, you only get paid when your viewer interacts with an ad (that may or may not even appear).
After all is said (or written), it still takes some work to bring this all together. However, when it does come together, it’s really going to be so rewarding, with the flexibility of a boss.
So, how do you get started?
How to Earn Money From YouTube By Uploading Videos – Getting Started
If you’ve decided to start a YouTube career, follow these quick tips to get started.
First you should know how to vlog. I found a YouTube Video online that explains things pretty well.
Now that you’ve found tips in that video, follow these steps below:
1. Set up and build your YouTube channel
Your channel is your personal presence on YouTube. Each YouTube account has one channel attached to it.
So go to Youtube.com, go to the left panel drop down and click on Settings, then Create a new channel
A YouTube account or your gmail account is the same as a Google account, and creating a YouTube account will grant you access to other Google products, such as Drive.
- Create your account or use your existing one. Add keywords to help people find your channel.
- You can add keywords by navigating to the Advanced section of your Channel Settings. Make sure that your keywords are relevant to your content
2. Add your contents
Try to upload content that is high quality, and isn’t super long. (This option can vary depending on what type of content you decide to upload).
Also try to upload regularly and stay consistent with your uploads.
- Improve your content by either using a better camera or trying better editing software or techniques.
- By uploading regularly you can help hold an audience. People are more likely to subscribe if you add content on regular schedule, and maintain that schedule as much as possible.
- Tag your videos with key words that describe the content, as well as an eye-catching description. These will help drive people to your video from YouTube searches.
3. Build your audience:
Building an audience is key to increasing your monetizing your videos. You need people to watch ads in your video in order to make any.
There is no one secret to getting more subscribers, just make the best content that you can and they will come to you. Follow these tips to grow your YouTube subscribers base.
- Keep uploading content and try to get people hooked. Send your video out on Twitter and Facebook. Share it with people. Distribute it elsewhere on the internet. Subscribers are essential to becoming a partner.
- Interact with your viewers by responding to comments and making occasional videos directly related to viewer comments and questions. Connecting with your community will bring more members into that community.
4. Start to Monetize Your Videos
In order to start earning money on your videos, you’ll need to enable monetization and to be able to monetize you need at LEAST 10,000 views according to YouTube. (That’s why I said that you need to focus on publishing engaging videos first before you think about the money)
This means you are allowing YouTube to place ads in your video. This also means that you acknowledge that there is no copyrighted material in your video.
So once you have at least 10,000 views on your videos, you can monetize by following these steps below:
- Go to www.youtube.com and click “My Channel” on the webpage.
- Click the link called “Video Manager” on the top bar.
- Click channel and Enable on monetization.
