What is a cash receipt?
A cash receipt is a document that is usually issued at the completion of a sales transaction.
This document is important for both the seller and the buyer. It records sales made by the vendor and for the customer, it is an evidence of payment made to the seller.
Key Elements of the Cash Receipt
It includes sellers information like business name, business description, address, email or phone contact, description of goods sold or services rendered, amount in cash, receipt number. Also, customers information like customer’s name, contact etc.
If you accept payments from customers in cash, you will surely be asked for a receipt at some point. If you made payment in cash, you’ll also need an evidence of payment.
