The web is a powerful resource that can easily help you learn new skills and expand your knowledge. Rather than waste time on Facebook and Instagram, you can put the internet into good use.
Without paying a dime or paying so little, there are websites with hundreds of thousands of users where you can learn things that truely will add value to you as well.

1.Ehow
Through fun videos and simple instructions, you can learn how to make anything. You can also submit your own creations and share what you make with the rest of the world on eHow and gain a wide range of skills.
2. Coursera
There are over 800 free course on topics that range from internet, business, language, history to financial engineering, the education platform helps you deepen your knowledge across a range of subjects.
Cousera is one of the best platforms to visit to boost your career as you learn interactively with other members, at your own pace.
3. Quora
Quora is one big and widely visited website to get your questions answered by other smart people, or read through the questions other people have asked. You can learn anything from productivity hacks to relationship issues etc.

4. Digital Photography School
Are you into photography or interested in learning photography? This platform is one great tool that is dedicated to helping you improve your photography skills; they’re helpful even if you’re a complete beginner.
There’s also an active forum where you can find a community of other photographers to connect with.
5. TED-Ed
TED-Ed is an initiative launched by TED with the idea of “lessons worth sharing.” It is meant to spark the curiosity of learners around the world by creating a library of award-winning, animated lessons created by expert educators, screenwriters, and animators.
You can create your own customized lesson to distribute around the world by adding questions, discussion topics, and other supplementary materials to any educational video on YouTube.

Like Coursera, eDX offer tons of great value adding courses from many of world’s top university. It is also a platform you can check out to boost your career and learn practical skills.
7. Busuu
Always wanted to learn Spanish, French, Polish etc.? Busuu is one stop place for you. You can learn for free, although they have a premium package too. Busuu takes offers 12 languages pretty well.
Just give it a try. Another cool place to learn is lingvist, they offer 3 languages (French, Russian and Spanish). Learning a new language may be daunting and tiring, but you need not worry if you’re on these platforms.

8. Code Academy
Do you want to learn how to write codes to develop apps and softwares? Code academy is a place to learn HTML & CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, Python, Ruby etc. for free. It is one of the platforms out there to learn interactively how to code.
